R. Gipson Electric Ltd. was founded by Master Electrician Roger Gipson in 1979 to provide comprehensive electrical services to Gananoque and the Rideau Lakes region. As a testament to Roger’s focus on strong customer service, R. Gipson Electric Ltd. was one of the first in the region to offer a private pole line service with a dedicated bucket truck, and also to do island work with his own pontoon boat — services crucial to the 1000 Islands community. R. Gipson Electric Ltd. electricians are also accredited to service gas stations with their POST (Petroleum Oriented Safety Training) qualification.

Born and raised in the Rideau Lakes region, Roger comes from a long line of electrical workers including his grandfather and three great uncles who all worked for Ontario Hydro with a combined service of over 120 years. A seasoned Master Electrician, Roger is well qualified to handle electrical projects of all sizes and complexities and is committed to meeting new standards and adopting new technology. With senior electrician Kyle Amo and a staff of junior electricians, R. Gipson Electric Ltd. offers a depth of skill and experience rarely seen today.

Roger has also been very active in the Gananoque community in addition to his business endeavours. He has a long history of participation in local service clubs, charity organizations, sports teams and local government. Roger was named 2001 Citizen of the Year for Gananoque, and in 2006 was inducted into the Rideau District High School’s Hall of Honour, his former high school. He is a recipient of the Prime Minister's Award for Volunteerism, and is a past member of the Kinsman Club of Gananoque where he served for 25 years.
